Review: Twisty Girlz Transforming Doll

Can you believe that next month is Christmas! 2020 has certainly been a bizarre year and I for one am glad that it’s almost over. Here’s hoping 2021 is better!

Anyway, with Christmas on the horizon I’ve been sent two of this years must have toys to review.

Twisty Girlz are adorable, fun and fashionable. Not only are they dolls that your children can play with, they also transform into a bracelet that your child can wear.

There are 8 to collect: Krystal Kool, Kitty Kat, Glitzy Bitzy, Lea-Purr, Lil Gems, Beadbox Betty, Calli Coco, Princessa Tessa.

I was sent Lea-Purr and Glitzy Bitzy to review. Each doll is sold separately with an RRP of £9.99.

Each Twisty Girlz doll has a different stylish outfit and cool hairstyle, plus they come with a secret Twisty Pet. Pictured below is Glitzy Bitzy. As you can see she’s really colourful and her secret Twisty Pet comes in a cute cardboard carrier.

To see your secret mystery pet just open up the carrier to reveal them.

Look! It’s a unicorn! Not only does the doll transform into a bracelet, the unicorn transforms into a ring!

With a few simple pulls and twists, the unicorn changes shape….

…and transforms into a ring by simply placing the tail end into the hole in the top of the unicorns head.

Much like the Twisty Pet, the Twisty Girlz doll also transforms just as easily.

When she’s ‘unravelled’ simply insert the part that is poking out of the top of her skirt into the hole at the back of her head.

And just like that you have a ring and a bracelet.

What’s more, you can then use the lead that your Twisty Girlz doll is holding to attach your doll and pet together. You can do this whilst you’re wearing them both…

…or when your chid is playing with them…

I really like that each doll comes with detailed instructions on how to transform them and their pet into the ring and bracelet.

There’s also instructions for how to transform your bracelet back into a doll again.

It would be good if there was also instructions on how to turn the ring back into the pet again as it took me a while to realise that you don’t push the yellow balls into the head and body, you just twist the legs around into place – think making a sausage dog out of a modelling balloon!

Overall, I am very impressed with Twisty Girlz. It’s exactly the sort of toy that I would have loved playing with as a child, and my twins, who are eight years old absolutely love them too. Twisty Girlz are available to buy online at Smyths, Argos and Amazon.
