Review: Encouraging children to get outdoors with Skates.co.uk roller skates
Rollerskating is something I have very fond memories of growing up. My sister and I had matching Polly Pocket quad roller skates and we’d spend our entire summer in the garden on them.
We’d skate up and down the driveway, plod across the grass on them and generally have lots of fun. My children are now 10 years old. The perfect age for me to introduce to them to the joy of roller skates.
Skates.co.uk is a family owned company based in Romsey (England). The site was launched in 2007 and sells scooters, boards, skates and more.
Skates.co.uk sent me two pairs of their SFR Vision II Roller Skates. One pair in ‘Tropical’ and the other in Blue/Black. They arrived quickly, nicely presented in a box which detailed the product information and size.

First up are the SFR Vision II Quad Roller Skate in ‘Tropical’. A stunning pink colour with a mixture of blue, yellow and white detail.

I love the retro feel of these skates. The bright colours scream 80s to me and I could just as well see myself wearing them to a roller dance as well as my 10 year old daughter enjoying them too!
The sizing is spot on and both of my girls have reassured me that they are really comfortable to wear. They must be because they genuinely haven’t taken them off much since they arrived!

Putting the boots on is just as quick and easy as putting your trainers on. There are no annoying, tough clips to open and click shut. Just laces and a velco strap. Perfect for 10 year olds to manage by themselves.

The blue/black roller skates also arrived nicely packaged and are mainly black with some blue, white and grey detail.

I really like the design of the SFR Vision II skates. As mentioned above, they’re comfortable and easy to put on and take off and I also really like the big chunky stopper at the front which makes it easy to stop.

The ‘SFR’ design on the side of both skates are a nice design and add to the appeal of the overall look of the roller skates.

Both roller skates feature a comfy padded boot with an ankle strap for added support.
Benefits of rollerskating for children
These roller skates have really encouraged my children back outdoors. The weather is starting to warm up but it’s not yet summery and warm but that hasn’t put my girls off donning their skates and getting outdoors.
Rollerskating helps to develop balance and coordination, as well as agility. It’s also lots of fun when your friends skate with you too!
Final Thoughts
Overall, I am very happy with these roller skates. They’re comfortable, look good and are durable. My girls love them and that’s all I can ask for!
For the purpose of this review, I was sent two pairs of roller skates. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
