Review: A Sparkly Clean Home with

June 17, 2019

As someone who used to be a self-employed cleaner, I have somewhat of an interest in cleaning. I wouldn’t say I’m obsessive about cleaning, but I do like to have a clean home. As such I always make sure that I set aside one day a week to give our home a proper clean. I wish I had more time to do it, but with work and children it’s just not feasible.

When Mrs Hinch arrived on the scene I think it’s fair to say that a lot of people started taking more of an interest in cleaning their homes.

Like many of her fans I found myself getting swept along in Mrs Hinch’s Army. I’d watch her Instagram stories daily. I admire her passion for cleaning and some of her tips are just downright brilliant! recently contacted me to see if I’d be interested in collaborating with them by receiving some of the cleaning products that they sell. Of course it didn’t take me long to agree!

I was gifted a £50 voucher to spend on their website and as you can see from the picture below £50 goes a long way. Here’s what I ordered:

  • Greener cleaner cellulose sponge for the kitchen
  • Greener cleaner cellulose sponge for the bathroom
  • Microfibre cleaning towels (set of 5), Keep it handy 4 pack of microfibre cloths (x2), Microfibre wash mitt, Vileda microfibre cloths (3 pack), Dlux cellulose sponge wipes (4 pack)
  • Dinosaur toilet brush and a giraffe toilet brush
  • Purge fast acting microwave steam cleaner
  • 2 x Zoflora
  • Astonish Kitchen Cleaner
  • Dish scrubbing brush
  • Glade air freshener, Neutradol air freshener (x2), Knayton Hall room spray
  • Extendable duster
  • Pack of 4 lint rollers
  • Lemon potpourri
  • 2 x hanging storage
  • Light worx wobbly lantern (x2), collapsible washing up bowl, coffee cups and cups
  • 2 x pour and store container
  • 2 x slate plates

I’m very pleased with all of the products, however I should have definitely looked a bit closer when ordering some of the products! I ordered the pour and store containers so that I could tidy up our cereal cupboards and keep cereal in these instead of in the cardboard boxes. I also thought they’d be great for using at our local zero waste store as we could refill them with cereal, porridge oats, pasta etc. However, they’re actually really small! The website does clearly say: Height of clear container approx 11cm.

Somehow I missed that bit! I’m sure we’ll put them to good use for something though! The only other thing was the coffee cups. The website says 4 for £1 and they’re in a pack of two so I put two lots into the shopping basket thinking I’d get two packs, making four coffee cups in total, for £1. I actually received 16 coffee cups! Oops! My one suggestion here would be for to make their promotions a tad clearer!

I bought the coffee cups for my kids to use in the garden because they’re made of plastic, easy to clean, lightweight and if the kids drop them they won’t break so we’ll still use them and it saves me from using our glass mugs and cups!

Aside from those two little things everything else is perfect! My favourite buy are rather randomly the toilet brushes! I think they’re super cute and the kids love them! Here’s hoping they’ll actually use them now when the occasion arises!

The greener cleaner cellulose sponges combines a cellulose sponge made from 100% sustainable wood pulp, together with a recycled fibre topping which is why I opted for them. They’re fantastic to clean with. I’ve used them for my kitchen and bathroom – I like how they have different colours for each room so you don’t get them mixed up and end up using the bathroom one for the kitchen etc. They really absorbent and really good at removing stubborn residues.

As you can probably see from the list above I ordered quite a few cloths. That’s because I go through so many of them. I find microfibre cloths better at cleaning and of course you can pop them in the washing machine and re-use them.

Another of my favourite buys is the extendable duster. It’s brilliant at reaching high ceilings to dust away cobwebs and the duster part can also come off and be popped in the wash too!

The slate plates I bought I’m going to use in our bathroom. We’ve recently switched from using shower gels in plastic bottles to soaps, but our soaps are currently stored in the girls plastic snack boxes and it doesn’t look great on our windowsill! I’ve now washed and given the girls their snack boxes back as we’re now keeping our soaps on the slate plates and it looks so much better in our bathroom! What do you think?

I also bought some air fresheners for our bathroom and a room spray.

I also couldn’t resist the collapsable washing up bowl. In the summer our girls are forever in and out of the garden barefoot. I’m going to fill up the collapsable washing up bowl with warm soapy water and place it by our back door so that before the girls come in from the garden they give their feet a wash and save our kitchen floor form tiny, muddy footprints! Genius!

Overall, I’m very happy and pleased with all of the products received from I think they’re excellent value for money and I would definitely shop there again.
