How fashion has changed over the years
Fashion is a very personal and unique thing to every individual. When I was a teenager, fashion was very important to me. I’m not saying I was high-street fashionable, but I liked what I liked even if some of my choices were a little ‘out there’! For the main part, I followed the crowd in terms of what was trending but, now and again, I’d go my own way. Like that one time I bought a bright green, PVC mini skirt! I adored that mini skirt much to my parents horror! There was also that time when I invested in a pair of baby blue super high heels. I absolutely loved those high heels and wore them everywhere! Yes, I admit, I also wore them with my bright green mini skirt! It was a total clash of colours but I thought I looked great and, more importantly, I felt great!

Nowadays my tastes have changed and I must be honest, I have what some would call a capsule wardrobe. If you were to open my wardrobe nowadays, you’d find a variety of black t-shirts, black long sleeve tops and jeans. I do also have a lovely selection of long cardigans and yes, you’ve guessed it, they’re mainly grey or black! I was actually surprised a few weeks ago when I looked in my sister’s wardrobe. It was so much more colourful than mine! She a great selection of colourful blouses, dresses, shirts and skirts!
While I do own the odd colourful piece, I tend to buy them full of intention but when it comes down to actually wearing it, I find myself dismissing said colourful item and going for my safe, everyday, black t-shirt and tactical jeans
That being said, my husband isn’t adverse to a bit of colour. His wardrobe consists of a variety of mens trousers, joggers and t-shirts in an array of colours. Much like me, he tends to wear the same style of outfits every day. That’s a pair of jogging bottoms, a t-shirt and a hoody. I tend to go for a pair of jeans or jeggings depending on my mood and either a black t-shirt with long cardigan or a long sleeved black top. You really can’t go wrong with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt in my opinion!
