Dinky Mix Custom Illustration Review

Like a lot parents, my husband and I really like unique, personalised gifts for our children. When I was contacted by Chi from Dinky Mix and asked if I would like to review two of her kids illustrated prints I agreed.

Over the past few weeks, Chi has worked with me in creating a personalised commission illustration of our twin girls. Chi’s drawing style is similar to cartoon/comic books. In order for Chi to get a good idea of our girls and their personalities she asked me some questions about them such as their hobbies, favourite colours etc and I also sent her a picture of our girls.

Chi then puts this together with the ideas that the parents have and over a two to three week period she sketches, draws and then digitally colours the art work. It’s all very clever!

The great thing is that you’re kept updated throughout the whole process. After each stage of drawing we were sent a digital draft to show the progress being made, but also to allow any tweaks that we wanted to be made.

We were then sent a final of the illustrations for approval, and were advised that they would then be sent to the print suppliers for a colour proof sample to ensure that the correct colours are printed.

The whole process took around four weeks. When I received the prints I was very happy with them! They’re nicely framed and the quality pf the illustrations are amazing!

Chi really captured the personalities of our girls. The drawings are very detailed and our twin girls love them too!

I think these would make great gifts for any family member!
