AD| Four Flourless Italian Desserts You’ll Adore

June 8, 2020

If you’re a keen baker like me, the chances are you’ll have experienced a sudden lack of flour in the shops. It all started as we approached lockdown. Now it appears that self-raising flour remains sold out nearly everywhere, even though the panic buying of toilet paper seems to have stopped. Thank goodness for that!

However, many of us still want to use this time at home to get creative in the kitchen. With that in mind I want to share some of Gino D’acampo’s super delicious and easy Italian desserts, which don’t require self-raising flour.

1) Torta Di Polenta Con Arance E Cointreau: Polenta Cake with Oranges

This delicious recipe is perfect to enjoy during lockdown with a cup of coffee or tea. You could also serve it with a dollop of mascarpone on the side as a dessert.

The cake itself only requires 7 ingredients, most of which you’ll probably already have in your kitchen cupboards. The orange syrup requires just 4 ingredients

2) Musse Di Cioccolato Fondene E Frutti Di Bosco: Dark Chocolate Mousse with Summer Fruits

If you’re looking something more chocolatey, then this dark chocolate mousse with summer fruits is perfect!

This rich chocolate dessert is a perfect after dinner treat with friends and it’s also really quick and easy to make using some basic ingredients.

3) Panna Cotta Al Baileys: Bailey’s Panna Cotta

Who doesn’t love wanna cotta? Gino says that this dessert was created by chance when his wife bought a bottle of Baileys liqueur for one of their dinner guests and Gino thought he’d try it in the panna cotta he was making.

4) Raspberry & Orange Baked Cheesecake

Another classic dessert is cheesecake and while this is quite an old-fashioned recipe from Gino’s home patch, it’s packed full of flavour and fruit for a sumptuous dessert.

Finally

Which of the above recipes are you most likely to try? Gino’s bestsellers alongside a broad selection of discount cookery books are available at The Works.
