Brilliant Mum Feature Week 49
Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.
If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.

This week our brilliant mum feature is Ann who blogs at Popitha.
Ann is 37 years old and lives in the Essex countryside with her husband, and 2 1/2 year old identical twin girls. Anna was a deputy head by profession, but gave it up to raise the girls, and is now now pregnant with number 3. In her spare time, Anna says her girls have been very fortunate to be in the film and TV industry, so Anna coordinates that. To date they have stared in Bridget Jones Baby, Call the Midwife and several television commercials. They even filmed their first family one together last year!
Thanks for taking part Anna!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?
Yes, it is all I have wanted to be.
How did you feel when your children were born?
I had an interesting birth with the twins. I went into natural labour at 34 weeks and having signed the papers for a c-section the week before, gave birth to twin 1 naturally but due to complications and losing 3 litres of blood, I had to have an emergency section with twin 2. The one scenario I did not want to happen. Luckily both girls were both healthy but still spent 16 days in the NICU. I stayed in for 6 needing 2 blood transfusions.
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
Bringing my girls home from hospital. A massive achievement but also seeing them learn and develop as individuals. Identical twins are fascinating and even though their genetic make up is the same, it’s amazing how different they can be.
What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
Getting the twins mixed up on a daily basis!
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
Yes, daily. There are a lot of positives with twins but it is also massively challenging and for a long time felt confined as it so difficult to go out. Also feeling torn to help them both when needed and everyone getting frustrated which gives you a sense of failing them.
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
To be happy, confident and to achieve everything they want to.
