Brilliant Mum Feature Week 46

February 22, 2018

Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.

If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.

Brilliant Mum Feature

This week our brilliant mum feature is Melanie who blogs at Life with Melly. Melanie is a single mum with an 18 month old little girl named Alice. She has recently moved to Pontypridd into their first hone together. Melanie was due to get married this year, but her and Alice’s dad are no longer together. In  her spare time, Melanie loves reading, catching up on Netflix, going on days out with Alice and photography.

Thanks for taking part Melanie!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?

Yes. I wanted to be a mum by the time I was 25. Alice was born a month after my 26th birthday.

How did you feel when your children were born?

Amazing. Wonderful. Best experience ever and would happily do it all over again.

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?

Watching a piece of your heart grow into a beautiful kind and happy child. Alice is always smiling, very chatty and just makes me beam with pride at how amazing she is.

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?

Just watching Alice grow. I have a video of her at 6 months when she finally started seeing herself or a baby in a video and she does this shocked noise and then gets very excited. It always makes me laugh.

Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?

When mine and Alice’s dad relationship ended I was in a hell of a state. I became a single mum overnight and it broke me. I had to push past my feelings and get better because I am a mum first.

What are your dreams and hopes for your children?

For her to continue to be happy healthy and follow her dreams

You can find Melanie online here.
