Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.
If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.
This week our brilliant mum feature is Debbie who blogs at Adventures of a Single Parent. Debbie is a 41 year old single mum to 5 year old Rory. She’s in recovery from breast cancer and hoping to return to a nursing career soon. Debbie says, “We love adventures, especially camping ones.”
Thanks for taking part Debbie!
Have you always wanted to be a mum?
How did you feel when your children were born?
Excited, scared, worried. Rory came out not breathing. That first minute waiting to hear him seemed like an eternity. Terrible experience of having to stay in hospital for a further 5 days. No breastfeeding support. Couldn’t wait to take my baby home!
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
Raising my beautiful little boy by myself through the most traumatic of times through cancer treatment. Seeing him develop into such a remarkable little human being. I am the proudest mummy ever!
What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
That he can always come to me no matter what. That he has his mummy to grow up with. That he is happy and kind.
