Brilliant Mum Feature

This week our brilliant mum feature is Cari from This Bird Can. Cari is 46 years old with 4 girls, and is currently going through her second divorce. Cari has worked for the same boss in the NHS for 20 years!! She loves writing, comedy, friends, coffee and alcohol…!

Thanks for taking part Cari!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?

Yes…my only ambition at school…

How did you feel when your children were born?

No. 1 was premature born through the sunroof at 29 weeks weighing 1lb 10oz…No. 2 was two weeks late and needed to be coaxed out, this one ruined my front bottom. A sabbatical of 17years took place where one thing ended and another began…baby No. 3 was a classic, drug free birth the type you dream of….baby No.4 same again, clearly child birth is something you can get better at. My body eventually got the hang of it!!

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?

Seeing my adult children, find their niche, live their dreams, travel, set up a business, find and lose love, grow emotionally and become the women I made.

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?

These are endless and daily…usually embarrassing and often I appear to be the but of the joke!

Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?

Letting them go…always this. Trusting my instincts as to when they’re ready as opposed to when I’m ready.

What are your dreams and hopes for your children?

Happiness! To live their dream…love themselves, their body, their choices, their life. Health and wealth will naturally follow…
