Brilliant Mum Feature Week 16
Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.

This week our brilliant mum feature is Helen who blogs at Treasure Every Moment. Helen is a 27 year old mummy to one daughter, Isabella, and one on the way! Helen married her husband back in 2014 and since then they’ve entered the incredible world of parenthood together. Helen loves baking, photographing and exploring with her family. Helen says seeing the world through a toddler’s eyes has allowed her to see the world in a different light.

Have you always wanted to be a mum?
Absolutely! I have always loved looking after others, though the responsibility of actually becoming a mummy can be overwhelming. I was that child who played with dolls, made little houses and loved cooking for my family. I feel lucky everyday that I was able to become a mummy!
How did you feel when your children were born?
Overwhelmed and completely in love. My waters broke naturally and it wasn’t until four days later that I finally gave birth! So it’s fair to say my labour was a long, exhausting and painful journey but all more than worth it. That moment they placed our daughter on my chest will forever be one of the most treasured moments in my life. I just wish we had captured it on video and really want to try to second time around.
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
When my daughter says she loves me, cuddles me out of the blue or wants me over anyone else. That feeling of being so loved and needed is simply incredible and heart warming. It’s also amazing when Isabella learns something as a direct result of me showing/teaching her.
What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
I love the little phrases and words that Isabella comes out with as she learns to talk, they’re so cute and funny! Also, when Isabella dresses up is always so funny – the tutu, crown, wings, headband, wand combination is a personal favourite.
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
Tantrums are never fun to deal with and although I know we haven’t reached the peak age for them we’re certainly getting a taster. Toddler’s can be so headstrong when they want to be! When Isabella has a meltdown in public is always the trickiest to deal with, especially as my bump makes picking her up so much harder. It’s all a phase though, that’s what I keep telling myself anyway!
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
That they are happy, healthy and loved 🙂
