Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.

This week our brilliant mum feature is Becca from Becca Blogs It Out.
Becca is 34 years old and lives in Kent with her husband and two year old twins, Jack and Alice. Becca likes reading, writing and going to the toilet without a pair of little helpers!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?
Always. We waited through 3 years and 3 IVF cycles for our miracle babies.
How did you feel when your children were born?
Completely overwhelmed. I ended up with an emergency section and I lost 2.5lt of blood, so I was really poorly. It took a while to sink in that I was finally a mum. But it was also the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me.
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
Watching the twins grow and learn and become proper little people with completely different personalities. They make me proud every day.
What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
Alice finds herself hilarious. She’ll start playing peekaboo and then just start laughing until she can hardly breathe. Jack called welly boots “welloos” for ages. He calls them boots now, but my husband and I still call them welloos. At the moment, the funniest moments come from them learning new words. Alice recently learned how to say “goat”, but it sounds more like a rather nasty four letter C word. She said it loudly, repeatedly, at the Kent Show last weekend.
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
I suffer with depression and anxiety, so I struggle with that every day. Sometimes I don’t want to get up in the morning, but I have no choice. Going through IVF was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I really struggled with not being able to conceive naturally and then ending up with an emergency section.
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
I hope that they grow up to be happy and kind.
