Bath Christmas Market
Last year, myself and a few friends spent the weekend in Bath. We booked to go early in the year so that we could explore the Christmas markets, and we weren’t disappointed.
This was my first trip to Bath and I have to say that it’s such a beautiful place. I really can’t wait to go back there again.
This year the Bath Christmas Market starts on the 28th November and the last day is the 15th December. It’s a shame that it’s not on a little longer, but if you do get the chance to go before it finishes, I highly recommend it.
There are over 160 twinkling chalets spread out across Bath’s picturesque Georgian streets.
The thing that really impressed me last year was how different all of the chalets were. Whilst there were plenty of mulled wine, cheese and jewellery stores, no two were ever the same.
The range of items on offer was truly amazing. From unique homeware such as colourful wooden bowls, to rugs, to personalised presents, clothes, Christmas decorations and more.
There were also plenty of different food stalls. You could choose to grab a delicious burger or hot dog. Alternatively, you could opt for caramelised nuts, chocolates or fudge.
There’s also ‘The Lodge’, which offers up locally-brewed quality beers, warming mulled wine and cider.
My friends and I had so much fun exploring the streets of Bath and seeing what each chalet had to offer. A few of my personal favourite stalls include Jackdaw Moroccan Lanterns, Fudge Tasters, Barty’s Trading Co, The Big Cheese Making Kit, Bath Aqua Glass, Wooden Tie Company, Katrina Beattie Glass, Chocolate Kiss Co, Go Wild Preserves.
Whilst walking around Bath Christmas Market last year I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful decorations. These were made using recycled plastic bags and bottles by Christine Leech, Creative Director of Marie Claire Runway Magazine.
Bath Christmas Market is a popular tourist attraction. It was very busy with lots of people wanting to shop. The marshals did a great job keeping everyone safe by putting a one way system into place.
I bought some lovely gifts including a cute rag doll, sailor teddy bear, fudge, marmalade and a lovely Santa decoration.
Bath Christmas Market is certainly a memorable day out in a stunning setting, and I can’t wait to go back! Here are some more photos from my weekend in Bath.
