How Is Potty Training Going?
Having this life skill under their belt is a strong indication that your child is ready for nursery and little more independence. Even if they’re not fully potty trained but know when to announce that they need the toilet, that is a good sign that they’re on the right course to new levels of self-reliance.
Playing Well With Others
How is your child when it comes to socialising and playing with other kids? This is usually the biggest factor that worries parents about nursery, as they worry whether or not their child will make friends or be nice when it comes to shared playtime. Every child is different when it comes to interacting with others, but nursery is also a great place for them to learn HOW to play with others, as well as starting to keep those temper tantrums in check.
Verbal Skills
Children’s verbal skills all develop at different speeds, and you may be slightly worried they’re being in their development, so much so that it is making you question sending them to nursery. But nursery cna help them to further develop their verbal skills by speaking to other people and seeing how other people, and particularly other children, talk to each other. Many of the anxieties you may have over whether your child is ready for nursery are likely areas which can actually improve from being sent to nursery, and speaking is certainly one of those areas.
Separation Anxiety
Both child and parent may be finding the idea of separation a little hard to deal with. It is worth trying to get them used to the idea of not being with you all the time. Encourage a level of independence where you can so that when the time to head to nursery does come along, the separation isn’t too big a shock to the system.
