AD| Advantages of artificial grass

Unless you’re a keen gardener keeping your garden in tip top condition can be quite an effort. We’re lucky that our garden is a nice size. We have a patio and a lawn with two borders full of various plants.

The end of our garden is overshadowed by trees. This means during autumn we get a fair few leaves on the lawn. This doesn’t bother me much to be honest, but I do find it time consuming trying to keep on top of the weeding and cutting the lawn.

A little while ago while I was waiting for our girls to leave school I noticed the house I was standing in front of had an artificial lawn. It took me a while to realise that it wasn’t real grass because it honestly looked it.

There are so many benefits to artificial grass. For starters you don’t need to mow it. Secondly if you have a dog or a cat even, no more mucky paws!

Astro Turf

When people think of artificial grass they often think of astro turf. However, there is actually a different between the two. Astro turf is actually just the name of the first company that started selling artificial grass. They’re American and specialise in sports pitches such as five a side football.

Artificial grass is exactly what the name suggests. It’s being used more and more across the UK as a way to have an easy to manage garden all year round.

Advantages

As mentioned above, artificial grass means no more weeding or mowing. In addition it means your children, dog or cat won’t traipse mud through the house when they’ve been outside.

You won’t need to water your grass and it always looks great all year round! If you do like gardening, you can still keep your borders or some potted plants. Perhaps even a greenhouse for some tomatoes and runner beans!
