What we’ve done this week!

January 7, 2017

I can’t believe that Christmas is over already!

The girls are back in school. I’m back in work and life is continuing as normal again, even though my front room now resembles a toy shop and my bathroom a beauty store!

I don’t tend to write posts about our week, but I thought this week I would. I guess it’s kind of one of my new years resolutions going in 2017, which is to write down one good thing that happens each week, put it into a jar, and then at the end of the year you can read about all the good things that happened throughout the year, that you may have otherwise forgotten about.

So this week saw me turning 30 years old! Eek, a pretty big milestone right? Well, I guess so, but it’s just a number at the end of the day. I had a lovely day spent with family which was the most important thing to me.

Another thing that’s happened this week is that our girls have returned to school. I do miss them ever so much when they’re in school and the house is so quiet without them, but it does give me a chance to catch up on things that I need to do.

Something I’ve been doing every day this week, that the girls have really enjoyed, is walking to school to pick the girls up and bringing their scooters with me so that they can scoot to the park on the way home and have a play.

I usually walk the girls to school, but they’ve been waking up later than usual at the moment, and with the cold weather it’s quicker and warmer to take the car, so being able to get some fresh air together on the way home from school has been great.

That kind of ties into another new years resolution of mine which is to spend less time on my phone when the girls are home. This has been pretty successful. I’ve been leaving my phone on silent in another room so that I don’t even think about it, and I’ve been spending more time playing and talking to our children.

It’s so important to me that they grow with good relationships with me and their daddy,  and that we build happy, good memories together, not memories of mummy and daddy always being on their phones!

The girls made some bird feeders in school and really enjoyed it, so they’ve asked if we can make our own at home for the garden, so that’s something we’re going to do today!

This week I’ve also been working out every day. You can read about my workout a day challenge here, and keep an eye out for my update post this coming Tuesday. It’s been going well so far!

Something else that my husband and I have been doing is this week is watching Walking Dead. So many people we know rave about this show and we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. We only started watching it a few days ago and we’re already on season three! We’re hooked! It’s fab and if you haven’t watched it, do it!!

That’s pretty much it for this week, so I’ll be back again next week with another update!

Have a great weekend!

Totally agree that walking makes you feel better 🙂 I wish I could walk to work, but it’s a long 45/50 min drive for me!

Great post! I agree 100% on trying to stay off your phone in front of the littles. Tough, but worth it. Thanks for sharing!

I really should do more walking, would certainly help me get beach ready for our trip to the States in the summer. With two boys who can’t go five minutes without bickering and a toddler who has a stubburn streak inherited from her Mother I’m sure) walking anywhere further than the end of the drive is a chore.

Sounds like another busy week in Wales.

thanks for linking up to #wineandboobs
