Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Jungle Quest Playset Review

We’re big Thomas the Tank Engine fans and have previously reviewed some fab Thomas toys such as a Mega Bloks Thomas & Friends Zooming Along at Brendam Docks Playset and a Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Daring Dragon Drop Set.

This time around we’ve been reviewing the Thomas & Friends Playset called the Taken-n-Play Jungle Quest Playset to review.

The reason these toys are called Take-n-Play is because you can do exactly that. This set in particular has a carry handle and two places that you can clip in the Thomas engine and his trailer so that when you’re carrying it they don’t fall out. It’s also lightweight making it ideal to bring along to playdates or even on holiday.

Before I continue with the review I just wanted to let you know that Team Thomas have launched a new campaign, #TeamThomasUK, to get parents and children involved and help power Thomas on an exciting journey to reach The Great Race! This exciting campaign is all about celebrating Thomas & Friends core values of friendship, determination and teamwork, as well as a new racing theme for 2016.

Thomas & Friends will be inviting fans and families to power Thomas on a virtual journey to reach The Great Race – the new film launching in May. You can take part by visiting the website here or the Thomas & Friends Facebook page here.

Parents and children can join in with fun weekly activities that reinforce the positive values of friendship, teamwork, participation and determination, and also use their Twitter and Instagram pages to share their stories, photos, videos and comments with #TeamThomas helping Thomas on his journey.  When he reaches his destination never before seen videos and amazing prizes will be unlocked for Thomas fans!
Back to the review and the Take-n-Play Jungle Quest Playset was really easy to put together. The instructions were easy to follow with clear pictures of each step detailed along the way. This set comes with one Thomas engine and a trailer full of ‘emeralds’ which attaches to Thomas.

The idea behind this play set is that Thomas is on an amazing adventure in search of the legendary lost emerald. but he must get past the gorilla guardian first! Children can help Thomas on his quest to find this rare artifact by sending Thomas down the track and pressing the handle.

When pressed three times the handle will bring Thomas to the top of the playset, where he comes face-to-fearsome face with the gorilla! When Thomas reaches the top, the emerald drops down and lands in the gorilla’s hand. Thomas can race down the platform after the treasure but as he approaches, the gorilla hand grabs the emerald and pulls it out of reach!

After playing out the thrilling adventure, children can also flip the set around for more jungle action. Ride Thomas through the vines. As the river platform is tipped and the treasure rolls onto the tracks.
Children can also help Thomas push the treasure along the tracks and onto the rear lifting track. Push the handle 3 times and Thomas rides to the top of the play set again, to the back of the gorilla head. Have Thomas and the treasure ride through the gorilla head and down the rope bridge track back to safety.

Stickers are included to stick onto the playset and the instructions tell you where these are to be placed. The playset is durable and very easy for children to play with. It’s well made and our girls have really enjoyed playing with it. I’d definitely recommend it.

For the purpose of this review we were sent the above playset. Al l views and opinions are 100% my own.
