5 Laundry Hacks to Make Life Easier

Put your hand in the air if you enjoy doing laundry?
Yup. I didn’t think many people would actually say they enjoy doing their laundry, but you never know!
If you’re anything like me, and you’re pressed for time, then you’ll do anything to make sure your laundry is done quickly, and properly. Sometimes a rush job can mean that you don’t get stains out properly, or that your whites aren’t quite as white as they used to be, but it doesn’t need to be that way!
It is possible do your laundry quickly and properly! Here are 5 laundry hacks to make your life easier!
1. Use up your leftover bread
Yes, you read that right! Don’t throw out your crusts or the scraps in the bottom of the bag that no-one eats. You can actually use them for some super stain removal power!
If you’re a lady who likes to wear lipstick, but has experienced the misfortune of getting lipstick on your clothes, then worry no more!
Dig out the crust from your bag of white bread, roll it up into a ball and blot the lipstick stain to lift it from your item of clothing. You can then wash it as normal!
Piece of cake, or should that be bread?!
2. Get an Uber
Ok, so don’t actually get an uber! They definitely won’t help you with your laundry, but Laundry Heap will!
They’re actually like an uber, but for laundry! They’re a leading on-demand service that collect and deliver customer orders within 24 hours to your home, office or hotel! Laundry Heap are based in London, but their services are available in London, Manchester, Coventry, Birmingham, Dublin, Dubai, Sharjah and Amsterdam.
3. Chalk
My children love playing outdoors, especially with their garden chalks. Whilst chalk is a fairly easy stain to remove, grease, however, is not. If we’ve been enjoying a nice summer day outdoors with friends and family over, we usually have a barbecue.
If you’re a parent you’ll know all too well that children tend to have a habit of wiping their greasy hands on their clothes. To help remove these greasy stains, simply grab a stick of white chalk and rub it onto the stain. The chalk powder will absorb the grease which will make the stain easy to remove when you wash it normally.
4. Quick Wash
As mentioned above it is possible to do your laundry quickly and efficiently. For those stains that aren’t caked in, simply pop your items into your washing machine and put it onto the quick wash setting.
This is great if you’re in a rush and need to put the washing out to dry before you head off to work or out for the day. Just make sure you check the weather forecast first!
5. Hairspray
Another stain that my children quite often get not only on their clothes, but also on furniture is ink. I’ve lost count of the times that I’ve told them not to go near the sofa with pens, and to roll their sleeves up, but quite often it falls on deaf ears!
Thankfully, a liberal spray of hairspray over the affected inky area, leave to soak in for 10 minutes and then put in the wash, seems to do the job!
