Giant Piano Mat Review

Giant Piano Mat

Like most children, my four year old twins love music. Ever since they were babies, I’ve sung songs to them. I’ve played various musical instruments to them such as shakers, tambourines and drums. They even have a mini piano which was a bargain buy that I’m very proud of!

We have a dedicated drawer in our living room that’s full of musical instruments. Of course, they’ve kind of grown out of some of the instruments, but I keep them just in case! My husband loves his music too so he’s always playing songs on his speaker to the girls.

It’s so much fun watching them dancing around our living room, belting out the words! Our girls have even turned our patio into their very own stage! They’ll skip back and forth whilst singing and dancing as though putting on a show!

That’s one of the main reasons why I agreed to review a giant piano mat. Yup, you heard me correctly! A giant piano mat! I always think of that famous piano scene from the movie, Big, starring Tom Hanks! Such an iconic scene!

Although I’m not quite sure we’ll be able to play as well as they did in that infamous scene, but we’ll have a pretty good go!

The Giant Piano Mat from Rainbow Colours is really easy to use, and it has many different functions such as record and play back mode so that you can record yourself.

Inside the box you’ll get your giant piano mat, as well as six song cards which are:

Circus Show

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Happy Birthday

Old MacDonald

Sea Shanty

Row Your Boat

song cards

The piano doesn’t include batteries which is a bit of a shame.

The piano itself is really good quality and I like that it can be rolled up for storage. To turn on, there’s an ‘on’ button on the black box attached.

I also really like that all of the keys are brightly coloured. They match the key colours on the song cards so even the youngest budding pianists can learn to play a song.

In total there are 24 touch sensitive keys, with eight instrumental sounds, and as mentioned above there’s also a record and play back mode so you can record yourself.

After getting the piano out of the box, it didn’t take long for the girls to figure out how it worked and before we knew it they were running up and down the piano!

The buttons for the different musical instruments are really big and easily recognisable so it’s easy for children to press and understand what option they’ve chosen.

The girls like that they can use their feet, but they do like using their hands to explore the different sounds each key makes as well.

We’ve put together a short video below so that you can see the giant piano mat in action.

Overall we love the giant piano mat. It’s fun, great quality and easy to use! 10/10!
