Brilliant Mum Feature

This week our brilliant mum feature is Emma. Emma blogs at Fit Cake.

Emma lives in Cheshire, She’s 29 years old and is a freelancer due to her husband having heart disease. They have two children. One girl aged 10, and a son who is seven. They’ve been married for 6 years, together for 12. Emma says she runs, blogs, and tries to take the kids on adventures.

Thanks for taking part Emma!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?

How did you feel when your children were born?

Terrified! With my eldest child I was induced and there were no complications. I was home the next day. My second was pain relief free, unexpected and he was almost born in the hospital corridor.

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?

Watching them grow, their love of learning, how polite they are and that they love being active.

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?

My kids will say when I fell off a pogo stick on Christmas eve wearing a dog onesie!

Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?

Just generally 10 year old hormones, dealing with their dad’s two heart attacks and losing our home two years ago due to this.

What are your dreams and hopes for your children?

To excel at what they love, to remain involved in sports and to take on all the adventures they can.
