Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.
If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.
This week our brilliant mum feature is Denise who blogs at Mum on a Mission for a Better Life.
Denise is 37 years old and is a married mum of three girls aged 20, 19 and 10. She lives in Suffolk and is very nearly at the end of a social work degree. They have three dogs who they adore and enjoy taking to the park and going to fun dog shows. Denise is a big movie fan and has a monthly card at her local cinema so she does go quite often. Denise also enjoys crafting, doing things with the family and she’s also in a ladies darts team.
Thanks for taking part Denise!
Have you always wanted to be a mum?
Well I had my first child when I was just 17 but she was planned as I really wanted to be a mum and have a family of my own.
How did you feel when your children were born?
There are no words to describe the incredible feeling of love and happiness that you get when you hold your child in your arms for the first time – amazing!!
My first child’s birth was scary! I was young and as I was two weeks late I was induced. The process started at 9am on Monday 12th and she was born at 11pm Tuesday 13th! My second was ten days late but started naturally and my last was five days late and was a really quick birth so there was no time for any pain relief!
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
Seeing my older two girls grow into beautiful women is very rewarding! Every school parents evening or dance show I attend is fantastic, I always feel so proud. Even the times when they tell me they love me and give me a hug are rewarding too
What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
I’m sure there have been many but I cannot currently think of any!
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
Yes!! I think that all mums struggle at some point with difficult behaviour especially when kids hit their teens.
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?I just want them to be happy and always feel loved. I want them to know that no matter what, we will be there for them.
