I have a new favourite shop! The Cutlery Commission! Katie Dobson is Founder of The Cutlery Commission. Whilst on the hunt for a unique gift and struggling for inspiration, Katie found herself at her favourite car boot sale knee deep in boxes of chipped china. That is where Katie found it…’it’ being a rather sad looking silver spoon, which unbeknown to her was soon to become the inspiration for what is now The Cutlery Commission. We were recently sent one personalised silver plated fiddle spoon and one desert spoon. I decided to have the silver plated fiddle spoon personalised with my neice’s name and date of birth, so I could give it to her as a 1st birthday present. It’s something that is a little different to your usual stuffed toy because she will be able to keep and cherish forever. The spoon is absolutely beautiful. Although the spoon i perfectly useable, I think it’s one that will be kept safe and not used.
These spoons are perfect for any special occasion. From 1st birthdays to a new baby and you can fit up to 35 characters onto the spoon face and 12 on the handle.
The spoons arrived tied in a chiffon ribbon with a branded tag and tiny spoon charm, which is I love! I think these spoons are a little different to the usual gifts that you can buy. In addition to spoons, The Cutlery Commission also sell a wonderful range of butter knives, cake forks, knives and slices and cheese and herb markers. All of The Cutlery Commission’s cutlery is hand crafted in an antique style and made of brass, which is then silver plated. They can’t be used in a dishwasher, however you can hand wash them in warm water.
