Spruce Up Your Garden This Spring With LOVEThESIGN

March 7, 2018

You may not think it, especially after last week’s abundance of snow, but spring is definitely on it’s way!

That means, it’s time to get the garden ready. As a family of four with two young children, we tend to spend the majority of summer outdoors in our garden.

Our twin girls enjoy playing football, bouncing on their trampoline and running around the garden making games up. They also love playing with their water table and paddling in their paddling pool. That’s when the sun decides to make an appearance!

Whilst our girls play and make the most of the sunshine, my husband and I like to do some gardening.

As you can tell, we love to spend time outdoors! That being said, I think it’s definitely time to spruce our garden up and invest in some new patio furniture.

With our twin girls, three step-children, my sister, her husband and children, plus my mother in law, we’ve really struggled with ensuring everyone has somewhere to sit during summer BBQ’s.

Our faded, green plastic chairs do the job, but I’ve decided that this year it’s time to invest in some trendy patio furniture.

I love the idea of bringing the indoors, outdoors. As such I’m really fond of wicker sofas and chairs that come with comfortable cushions such as the ones pictured above and below which are available online from LOVEThESIGN. Plastic chairs are very practicable, but not very comfortable!

Of course for large family gatherings, something like the set pictured below would be ideal. As you can see the chairs also have cushions on for extra comfort!

In addition to patio furniture, I’ve decided to plant some colourful flowers. Every year, our children and I grow vegetables and fruit, but I’ve never really been one to plant flowers. However, I’ve really come around to the idea of having a few colourful planters strategically placed around the garden. I think it’ll really help to bring some colour into the garden, and of course attract some wildlife such as bees too!

Of course, we’ll still grow our fruit and vegetables too! We love a good strawberry hanging basket, plus our girls enjoy pulling carrots up and digging for potatoes!

Are you ready for Spring? What finishing touches would you add to spruce your garden up for spring?
