R.E.D January is over, so what do I do now?
Rest? Enjoy the freedom of not having to run every day?
Well, I could do that, or I could take on another challenge, and that’s what I’ve done!
Planking everyday in February! Although I’m not doing this for a charity nor will I be blogging about this challenge, it’s just something I want to do!
Anyway, the purpose of this post is to let you know how R.E.D January went. Well, on the 31st January 2018 I completed my last run, and as you can see from the picture below, I’m pretty pleased about that!
R.E.D January for anyone unfamiliar with it, is a campaign aimed at raising money and awareness of mental health for MIND, the mental health charity.
The benefits of exercise on mental health can be really positive, and that’s why running, or any other form of exercise has been encouraged throughout the month of January. Of course, I’m hoping those who took part and are yet to take part, will continue to exercise and enjoy the benefits that exercise brings.
So in January I covered a total distance of 130 kilometres. That’s a whopping 80 miles. That’s like running from my house in Cardiff to the centre of Worcester! Pretty amazing if you ask me!
I managed to raise a total of £33.74. Not a huge amount, but as they say it’s better than nothing! Thank you to everyone who has donated. I really appreciate your support.
If you’re feeling generous and want to donate £1, I’d really appreciate it! You can find my fundraising page online here.
I’ve really enjoyed taking part in R.E.D January and it’s definitely something that I’d take part in again. Alongside R.E.D January I also signed up for a 50 mile challenge, and I managed to complete this too. In fact I exceeded the 50 miles!
Not only that, but our twin girls took part in their own challenge and completed 5 miles of running in January! Well done girls! I’m very proud of you both!
