Finding a special and unique gift for someone for an upcoming occasion can sometimes be a challenge.
Most people go down the easy route such as personalised cards and gifts that you can create online and have delivered straight to your door.
Other people like to get more hands on and actually make something creative themselves as a gift for someone. This is my preferred method! I love getting my fabric stash and sewing box out!
I was recently contacted by the lovely people from Nuts for Gifts and asked if I’d like to work with them to promote knowledge of nuts through a fun and different perspective. I’m always up for a challenge, especially if it means getting my creative juices flowing, so I agreed!
Nuts for Gifts very kindly sent a kit of nuts, along with some different objects and compliments for me to use as main elements and props for my video.
The idea is quite simple. To create a gift for someone using the items that I was sent. Before I share the video with you and what I created, I just wanted to give you a bit of background about who Nuts for Gifts are.
Who are Nuts for Gifts?
They’re driven by INC (International Nut and Dried Fruit Council). They’re the world leading organisation representing the interests of the global nut and dried fruit industry. They’re an international source of information on health, food safety, nutrition, statistics, standards, government guidelines and regulations on trade barriers and agricultural quality standards.
What did I make?
Inside the kit that I was sent was three boxes of nuts and dried fruit, three pieces of fabric, three different coloured embroidery threads, one roll of washi tape, string, gift tags and a pack of pens.
