When it comes to toys, our girls have quite a few! This means it takes something pretty magical to impress them.
So when we were sent a Glimmies Aquaria set to review along with two additional figures, I think it’s fair to say that the girls were pretty impressed!
Glimmies are super cute magical creatures that live in Aquaria, an underwater village in Glimmies world!
These little marine fairies each have their own unique names. We received Glimsplash, Medusilla and Mareen. Each fairy is super cute to look at. As you can see Glimsplash is pink, Medusilla is green, and Mareen is blue.
R was a tad disappointed when looking through the leaflet of all the figures to collect, that there are no ‘boy’ figures, but she was still happy to have received a blue figure!
Each fairy is water activated, and as such they only light up in their natural environment. To get them to light up simply up their underwater world with water and immerse them into the water, then watch them magically light up!
When you take them out of the water, they’ll hide their light, like magic! R and M think this is great! They spent ages putting each fairy into the tank and then taking them out again to watch their light disappear!
I also really like that the underwater world ‘tank’ isn’t huge. It’s a lovely size that’s perfect for children to keep on their bedside table.
This Glimmies set comes with one figure, but there are 17 Glimmies Aquaria to collect across the range!
The tank and fairies are colourful, plus I like that the tank has a lid to help keep the water inside. There were also little plastic pieces of what looks like pink coral reef and green seaweed that children can use to decorate the tank with by simply putting them into the holes in and around the tank.
Overall, I think this is a lovely play set for children. It’s easy for children to immerse the fairies into the water to get them to light up. The one thing I would say is that it would be nice if there were some boy figures too!
Glimmies are available online here.
