Today is World Poetry Day and I’ve teamed up with Viking to share with you the importance of writing. Viking sent me some arts and crafts products to help inspire me to share the love for literature and artistic writing, but first I wanted to talk to you about why writing is important. We all know that it’s good to get our creative juices flowing, not only is it good for our brains, it also helps to improve memory and emotional function. I’ve always loved writing. Long before I started using a computer, I would open up a brand new… [Read More]
I love a good blogging tag and when I was tagged in this tag by Five Little Doves I couldn’t wait to take part! So here goes! 5 Personal Wishes 1. To loose weight. I feel like this is something I say every year and yet I never seem to change. At the beginning of every year I throw myself into exercise and healthy eating, then by Easter I find myself neck deep in Easter Eggs trying to convince myself that the scales must be broken! This year will be different! I’m doing a workout a day which involves two… [Read More]

Our twins are four years old. Actually, four and a half years old. They’ve been going to nursery for two and a half hours a day for just under a year, and they’re starting school in the next few days. I think it’s fair to say that it’s time we ditched the dummies. In fairness the girls rarely have one during the day, although M does have a habit of asking me many times during the day for one in an attempt to wear me down, which on occasion I have given into! Come 5pm though and that’s… [Read More]

The great thing about the-S box is that you’ll get the help of The Stitchery’s… [Read More]
I’ve been making rather a lot of toys recently for our twin girls, but I wanted to make my neice and nephew something special too. They have pet guinea pigs so I thought I’d make them a guinea pig toy each! When M caught sight of these she fell in love with the pink one! That very night I quickly made up another one just for her! The following morning R decided that she too wanted one, so I had to make another!
R loves dogs so it’s no surprise that one of her favourite TV shows at the moment is Paw Patrol. I decided I’d make her a paw patrol puppy. What do you think? She loves it!
M has become rather obsessed with unicorns lately! I think it has something to do with her watching Barbie and the Secret Door as there are unicorns in it! She’s also into My Little Pony and is always asking for it on the TV! Thanks Netflix! With this in mind I decided to make M a unicorn toy using a Dolls and Daydreams pattern. Inspired by My Little Pony, I found some super cute fabric online that was perfect for the unicorns body! I’ve made a number of toys using the Dolls and Daydreams patterns. They’re all been super easy… [Read More]
My latest sewing project was something I’d wanted to try for a while. I purchased the rainbow babies pattern from Dolls and Daydreams. It’s a jointed doll with wool hair. I thought the biggest aspect I was facing was the hair, but in all honesty every part of this doll was super easy to make, making it one of my favourite patterns ever! Of course I had to make our girls one each, but I thought I’d treat myself to one as well! Here are some pictures of the creative process! My next project is a unicorn for M, a… [Read More]
Thinking of things to do to keep children entertained over the summer holidays can be time consuming! When one of my friends suggested we visit Pughs Garden Centre in Radyr, Cardiff, for their butterfly ball, I jumped at the chance! I’ve been to Pughs before, twice actually, for their Christmas experience – which is great by the way! This time around we took part in some crafts, butterfly style! This is an event we needed to book for, and tickets cost just £5 per child. The butterfly ball workshop was inside a new wooden lodge, which I totally want in… [Read More]
