Driving on the right side of the law!

November 21, 2015

I’ve been working in the car insurance industry for almost ten years now and I’m always amused by some of the stories I’ve heard about how accidents. I remember in the early days of me starting work in this industry that a horse sat on someone’s car!

Can you imagine calling up your insurer to tell them you’d like to make a claim because a horse damaged your car when it sat on it!
Aside from the funny stories, you also have the drivers who pride themselves on their immaculate driving history. I have to be honest and admit that I am one of those drivers! However when I came across this article in the Eaton News, which includes an infographic which that was created by Simpson Millar, I was a bit surprised to read the ‘five laws you may not know you are breaking’ section.

Apparently if you honked your horn to signify annoyance would be breaking the law. I was also surprised to read some of the wackiest driving laws in the UK! Did you know that drivers in the UK are legally allowed to relieve themselves beside the road if they are besides the car’s rear tyre and have their right hand touching the car! Something to bear in mind the next time you find yourself caught short!

An interesting infographic, I must remeber not to hail a cab when I have the plague lol. Seriously, it is great, I didn't realise about honking the horn.

Those wacky driving laws are nuts. I've been in a London taxi loads of times and never seen hay and oats in it x
